Experience
Tine is a CPA Lawyer with almost 15 years of experience in the field of taxation and corporate law. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2011 and began her career as a tax lawyer at Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. After she transferred to FNS, Tine continued her tax practice and gained extensive experience in dealing with the BIR and in handling Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) cases.
In 2017, Tine and her team successfully handled the Php25 Billion tax compromise settlement of Mighty Corporation with the BIR, for which tax clearances were issued. Her team was responsible for completing the BIR requirements relative to the Php45 Billion acquisition of Mighty Corporation’s assets by JT International (Philippines), Inc. in the same year. Her recent feat includes securing a refund of erroneously paid taxes on royalties before the CTA amounting to P152.5 Million- a rare and noteworthy victory among tax practitioners.
Tine’s practice also covers corporate and M&A. She has been part of the firm’s major acquisition projects. She specializes in handling due diligence, mergers, and acquisitions, and successfully assisted her clients in their major business transactions. Her practice covers both local and international/cross-border transactions.
Aside from being a Tax and Corporate Lawyer, Tine is also an outstanding litigator who has been successful in defending her clients in their civil, criminal, commercial, and intra-corporate cases, including those which may be touted as “high profile” cases.
