AI and Data Law: How Do Global Rules Diverge?

Technology lawyers explain why there is no single global rulebook for AI and data: India runs a consent-driven regime with sectoral localisation, the EU harmonises through the AI Act and DORA yet enforces differently country by country, Africa's 52 separate data laws create an operational nightmare, and China, Russia and Switzerland add further localisation demands. The cross-jurisdiction through-line is that multinationals can no longer rely on one cloud region or one compliance programme, and must map where their AI and data sit jurisdiction by jurisdiction. The panel also covers the shift from tickbox compliance to board-level, risk-based AI governance.

Featuring Global Law Experts members from Uganda, India, Switzerland and Spain.
