Born in Leipzig in 1965, Arell Buchta studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

He was appointed as a tax advisor in 1995 and qualified as ‟Fachberater für internationales Steuerrecht” (expert advisor in international tax law) at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (Albert-Ludwig-Universität Freiburg) in Breisgau in 2008. He worked in the Tax Department of Arthur Andersen (as of 2002 Ernst & Young) in Dresden between 1990 and 2010 and managed this department from July 2008.

Arell Buchta assists companies of all sizes and legal forms as well as corporate groups by providing comprehensive advice on tax matters. In addition to general tax-related issues, his main advisory focus is on reorganizations, tax structurings, tax audits and complaints procedures, transfer prices and other areas of international tax law. His portfolio is supplemented by Tax Accounting and Reporting under IFRS and US GAAP standards.

Arell Buchta has three children, is interested in modern art and collects vinyl records.
